The local open air market is right across the street for some festive haggling and bargain-hunting, and art shops line the Pantai Mengiat Road. The lovely cultural centre of Ubud abounds in upscale art galleries featuring many of Bali’s most prominent artists. Most weekends, nearby Sukawati hosts the island’s largest art and handicraft market, two stories of incredible prices on traditional clothing and crafts. The sophisticated shops of Monkey Forest Road abound in upscale shops offering Balinese art, designer clothing, and antiques. Visit the traditional artistic villages surround Ubud.
