Bali Restaurants

From traditional Indonesian fare to fine international cuisine to fast food, Bali restaurants are a paradise for foodies. For incredible local dishes, taste-test the little roadside stands, called warungs, featuring such exclusively Indonesian delights as nasi campur (steamed rice with meat and vegetables) or mie goreng (fried noodles). Roving vendors, often found on southern beaches, offer such authentic delicacies as bakso, the traditional beef and noodle soup. Most local eateries actually do not serve Balinese food, but rather Chinese or Indonesian fare.

At the other end of the dining scale, Bali is home to many world-class international restaurants offering everything from trendy Asian-French fusion cuisine to fresh Japanese sushi, all served in some of the most exquisitely romantic settings in the world. A treasure trove of new restaurants has sprung up in southern Bali, with French, Australian and American chefs adding exquisitely creative twists to traditional dishes.

Ubud abounds in excellent eateries of all types. The Art Kafe Bar dishes out excellent seafood and live music, while stylish Moziac boasts first-class international cuisine. Just outside of town Murnis Warung charms with four stories of culinary delights and fantastic cliff-top river views. Enjoy delectable Mediterranean meals and live dance music at funky Ubud Jazz Café, while mouthwatering roast pig is the specialty of Ibu Oka warung. In Kuta/Legian, dine on delicious budget fare at Boardwalk or dazzling Mediterreanean cuisine at the Cocoon Beach Club and Restaurant.
