Best Scuba Diving Spots in Bali

One of the most desirable Scuba Diving Spots is Indonesia, and if you are planning a trip to the islands there are plenty of excellent places where you can dive on your Bali holidays. The varied landscape offers divers a variety of different sites where divers can explore the rich coastline.

The USS Liberty
Expect ot see beautiful barracuda, sun and Napoleon fish and coral trout when you strap on your tanks and explore the USS Liberty. Attacked by a Japanese sub in 1942, the ship remained onshore until a volcanic eruption in 1963. Close to shore, just 30 metres out, it is covered in coral. Go night diving and watch lionfish and crinoids as they look for a new place to call home.

Crystal Bay
The south west side of Bali is home to Nusa Penida and is one of the islands best diving sites, Crystal Bay. Because it is sheltered, it is an excellent place to begin your dive. The spectacular colourful corals provide protection for the tropical fish that call Crystal Bay home. Most divers head to the spot to catch a glimpse of the Mola Mola which gather along the slopes.

Manta Point
Quite shallow and cool Manta Point has spectacular Manta Rays which come to feed. They rarely notice the divers while getting their fill of plankton that make the water quite murky.

Ped
The north coast of Nusa Penida features one of the most popular sites in Bali. The hard coral reefs are home of gorgonians and barrel sea sponges once you dive deeper. Sometimes you can see Manta Rays and Chevron Barracuda. Avoid touching the reef where you can spot angel and triggerfish as it is home to dangerous scorpion fish which can be tough to see.

The entire island of Bali is beautiful, but if you really want to explore everything it has to offer, strap on your tanks, pull on your fins and start diving.
